Data controller

The controller of the data collected through Verso Solutions is Irimescu Cosmin (VAT no. 04204410049), with registered office at Via Ottavio Ferraretto 11, 12062 Cherasco (CN).

For any request regarding data processing you can write to info@verso.solutions.

What data we process

Data you provide to us. Through the contact form we collect your name, email, any company, the type of need and the message you write: we use them to reply to you and manage the contact, and we record them in our contact management tool (MailerLite).

Newsletter signup. If you subscribe to the newsletter we collect your email address (and the page you came from, as a reference) to send you our updates. Delivery is handled by MailerLite and starts only after email confirmation (double opt-in); you can unsubscribe at any time from the link at the bottom of every message.

Verso AI assistant. If you use the chat assistant, the messages you type are sent to Anthropic (Claude model) only to generate the reply: under the commercial agreement they are not used to train the models nor retained by Anthropic. We keep them for a limited period (see Data retention) and recommend not entering unnecessary personal data in the chat.

Blog article likes. If you like an article, we store a random identifier generated by your browser (no name, email or account) together with the chosen article, to remember and count the likes. For anti-abuse purposes we also record, for a few days, a non-reversible fingerprint (hash) of the IP address.

Browsing data. Like any website, we collect technical data (e.g. IP address, browser type) needed for operation and security. On the contact and signup forms and on the Pharos tool we also use Cloudflare Turnstile, an anti-abuse protection that processes technical signals (IP address, browser data) to tell humans from bots.

Specola observatory. On the specola.verso.solutions subdomain we run a public experiment on AI crawler behavior. There we log every request to the server (date and time, IP address, User-Agent, path). Unlike the rest of the site, the IP address is kept in the clear and not as a hash: it is needed to verify, via reverse DNS and the IP ranges published by the bot operators, whether a bot really is who it claims to be. The log also includes people's visits to the observatory's public pages.

Cookies. Only with your consent do we use statistics and marketing cookies. Details and list in the cookie policy.

Purposes and legal bases

Replying to your requests and managing the commercial contact (legal basis: performance of pre-contractual measures at your request). Sending you the newsletter, if you subscribe (legal basis: your consent, revocable at any time). Providing the Verso AI assistant and following up on requests received in chat (legal basis: legitimate interest in offering assistance and, at your request, pre-contractual measures). Remembering and counting the likes on blog articles (legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding which content is useful). Running the Specola observatory and verifying bot identity (legal basis: legitimate interest in documenting, transparently and verifiably, how AI crawlers treat web standards). Ensuring the security and operation of the site (legitimate interest). Statistics and marketing via cookies (legal basis: your consent, revocable at any time). Keeping a record of your cookie choice (legal basis: the accountability obligation, Articles 5 and 7 of the GDPR).

External processors and recipients

To provide the service we rely on suppliers who process data on our behalf, appointed as data processors:

  • Fly.io, Inc., site hosting and delivery.
  • Cloudflare, Inc., anti-abuse and bot protection on the forms (contact, newsletter) and the Pharos tool (Turnstile). See Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
  • MailerLite, handling of contacts received through the form and newsletter delivery.
  • Anthropic, PBC, processing of the Verso AI assistant's messages (Claude model) only to generate the replies, without using them to train the models or retaining them.
  • Google (Google Analytics), usage statistics, only with consent.
  • Microsoft (Microsoft Clarity), usage statistics with heatmaps and anonymized session recordings, only with consent.
  • Meta (Meta Pixel), campaign measurement, only with consent.

Some suppliers (Fly.io, Cloudflare, Google, Microsoft, Meta, Anthropic) are based in or may process data in the United States: in that case the transfer takes place on the basis of the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission and, where the suppliers adhere to it, of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. MailerLite is based in the European Union (Lithuania).

Data retention

We retain contact form data for the time needed to handle your request and any relationship arising from it, and in any case no longer than 24 months from the last contact, except for legal obligations (e.g. tax and accounting) or the need to establish or defend a right in court. Newsletter subscribers stay registered until they unsubscribe. Technical and security data is automatically deleted or anonymized: anti-abuse and rate-limit logs within a few days, the (hashed) identifiers tied to Pharos tool analyses within 90 days, the IP addresses logged by the Specola observatory within 90 days (the rows stay, without the IP, for the aggregate statistics), conversations with the Verso AI assistant within 30 days, the IP fingerprint tied to article likes within a few days (the like itself stays, without the IP, until you remove it); proof of cookie consent is kept for up to 24 months for accountability. Data collected via cookies is retained for the period indicated in the cookie policy.

Your rights

You can exercise at any time the rights provided by Articles 15–22 of the GDPR: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, as well as withdrawal of consent. To do so, write to info@verso.solutions.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, www.garanteprivacy.it).

Nature of data provision

Providing the contact form data is optional, but necessary for us to reply to you: without it, we cannot follow up on your request. Technical browsing data is collected automatically, for the operation and security of the site.

Minors

The site and our services are aimed at companies and professionals: they are not intended for minors under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a minor has provided us with data, write to info@verso.solutions and we will delete it.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice to reflect changes in the law or in the site's services. The version in force is always this page, with the last-updated date shown at the top; we will signal material changes by appropriate means.
